My Better Beauty Journey

My kids are 8 and 6 and I love them more than life itself.  For years I was content being a SAHM.  I loved everything about being a Stay at Home Mom. Grocery shopping, cleaning the house, raising our kids, making dinner and ensuring my Husband was well-taken care of because after all, he was the bread winner of our family.

The kids needed me.  They needed me to help them get dressed, help tie their shoes, get them ready for bed and nurture them with bedtime stories.  The years flew by so quickly and with so much happiness it took me awhile to realize that my babies weren't exactly "babies" anymore.  Of course, they will always be MY babies, but realistically speaking, they were growing up and becoming more independent every single day.  I would prepare meals and they would eat.  I would get the bath ready and they would bathe.  I would lay out their clothes and they would dress.  There were more after school activities, more friendships and a little less neediness.

While the kids were at school in the early years of Preschool and Kindergarten, I would head to the gym after drop off and spend the rest of the day doing whatever household related activities that needed to be done.  I would volunteer my time at their school (something I still do) and I was always busy.  Life was good.

To be honest, I didn't even realize anything was missing from my life.  I thought maybe I could be doing something more but I didn't feel passionately enough about anything that could take me away from the kids every day.

It was November of 2016 and I was scrolling through Facebook when I came across a group about Beautycounter.  This company was a few months old in Canada and the products intrigued me.  It wasn't so much the fact that the products were "safer" or "cleaner," it was more the fact that they were high-performing and anti-aging and seriously could not wait to get my hands on them and try them out for myself!  My first Beautycounter purchase was the #2 Plumping Facial Oil and it literally changed my entire thought process about skincare.  I mean, how could a facial oil work so beautifully to hydrate and plump my skin during the winter months without leaving me greasy?  I was smitten and I wanted to know more.

Before I knew it, I had purchased the coveted Charcoal Bar (and became obsessed).  A natural exfoliant and antioxidant in one little bar of goodness? Yes, please!  Then came the Nourishing Exfoliator which left my skin bright, shiny and clear!   It was becoming very obvious that  I needed to try every single Beautycounter product.  And so I did.

It was August 2017 and I was getting my kids ready for back to school.  Packing their school supplies, making sure they had proper indoor and outdoor shoes, extra clothes for their bags... you know the drill.  A box arrived on my door that day with EIGHT (yes, eight) Beautycounter products that I had ordered from my consultant.  I was so excited about my products when it dawned on me.  Maybe I should sell this stuff?!
